US Biometrics Corporation Announces Its First Customer Shipments of AccessQ Lite™ – Indoor Biometric Access Control for Buildings and Entrances.
April 19, 2007
NAPERVILLE, IL – US Biometrics has introduced a new biometric access control device called AccessQ Lite™ that is now shipping to customers. This product is a major enhancement to US Biometrics’ growing line of biometric physical and logical control systems. This new system, as is the case with the existing system - AccessQ™, uses fingerprint identification to grant access to doorways and entrances. It is a secure, convenient, and costeffective alternative to proximity and magnetic swipe cards or PIN systems. The biometric fingerprint scanner mounts on a wall near an interior door and when wanting to gain access, an individual simply places a finger on the scanner for authorization. PIN codes can also be configured to enforce multifactor authentication. Other features include a sophisticated scheduling mechanism along with audit reporting of who entered what entrances at what times. Unlike systems that require proprietary networking, AccessQ Lite™ uses existing local area networks and is managed from a single central repository of credentials. This repository is called CentralQ™ and, along with controlling access to physical doorways and entrances, it also supports biometric authentication to networks, software applications, and computers when it is used in tandem with US Biometrics’ PassQ™ and MemberQ™ products.
“AccessQ Lite™ is the latest product that plugs into our CentralQ™ infrastructure. CentralQ™ becomes the customers’ central repository of fingerprint profiles and credentials. We made a conscious effort to make AccessQ Lite™ the most functional access control device on the market, keep costs below competitive devices, and allow it to be a part of the CentralQ™ suite of products,” states David Delgrosso, president of US Biometrics. “CentralQ™ is key to our clients because it drastically reduces IT maintenance requirements since it becomes a single infrastructure for accessing doors, controlling software, identifying employees and/or customers, and granting access to networks.”
While easy-to-use, cost-effective, and very convenient, AccessQ™ and AccessQ Lite™ provide a means of creating a safe environment while preventing theft, fraud, and liability exposure. (AccessQ™ is US Biometrics’ weather resistant physical access control device for the outdoors.)
